Okay people! Here we go! First part of my little comic. Say hello to my version of Waterboy's mom. I headcanon that he's her spitting image! Also gave him "Fischer" as a last name because I think it's cute lol. Herman is about 8 years old in this part of the story!

“Can we get a dog?” you ask distractedly.

Caleb looks up from his report. “A dog?” he echoes. “I didn’t think you liked dogs, pips. Remember that one when you were a kid?”

You hum, barely listening. “What about, like, a big one?”

“What, a German Shepherd?” Caleb rises to his feet, coming to stand in front of you. “I’ve heard they’re pretty good for security—”

“No,” you shake your head. “Bigger— like, your size.”

Caleb huffs out a laugh at that. “Where are you going to find a dog that’s six foot two?” He tilts his head carefully. “Is there something you’re not telling me?”

You close out of the recent Hunters notification silently. The bright light of the supermoon streams in through the window. “It’s nothing. Forget it.”

He eyes you carefully before wrapping his arms around you, bringing you close to his chest. His evol quietly shuts the curtains, blocking out the moonlight. “If you want a pet, pips, just ask.” Caleb nuzzles into the crook of your neck. “I can be your loyal puppy, better than any… mutt you find in the woods.”
